Accessibility statement
Created on 14/08/2026 on the basis of a self-assessment.
Translated version. Only the <a href="/info/de/barrierefreiheit" class="underline hover:text-wasser-700">German version</a> is legally binding.
What this statement covers
This statement applies to the website maunawai.info in all languages offered and to all four country datasets. It does not apply to the water suppliers' analysis documents that we link to: these come from the suppliers themselves, we do not publish them.
Status of compliance
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of EN 301 549 (version V3.2.1) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at level AA. Partially means: the points listed under “Known limitations” are still open, everything else is compliant according to our assessment.
Known limitations
We are aware of these points and are working on them. For each one there is a way that achieves the same:
- The coverage map shows several thousand areas. It can be reached and skipped with the keyboard, but it is not a convenient route to a single place. Instead: the postcode search leads directly to the values, and every country page also lists the areas covered.
- The measured value tables require horizontal scrolling on narrow screens; they have five columns that cannot be wrapped sensibly. Instead: the scroll area can be operated with the keyboard and carries a label of its own.
- The linked original documents of the water suppliers are mostly PDF files and often not accessible. We do not create them and cannot change them. Instead: we reproduce all values they contain on our pages as text and as a table.
- The application form for API access requires JavaScript and reports its result only after submission. Instead: an informal request by e-mail to kontakt@maunawai.info is processed in exactly the same way.
How this statement came about
This statement is based on a self-assessment against the success criteria of WCAG 2.2 at level AA: we reviewed structure and labelling, operation without a mouse, colour contrasts (calculated), behaviour at 200 % zoom and the marking of text passages in other languages. An assessment by an independent body has not taken place so far.
Report a barrier
If you came across something that was not accessible, write to us at kontakt@maunawai.info. Please state the address of the page and what did not work. We will reply and tell you whether and when we will fix it. The postal address and telephone number are given in the imprint.
