All four countries together: Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. “Areas” are postcodes, in Italy Comuni — there is no open postcode dataset there. The population figure covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland; we have no population figures for the Italian Comuni.
Germany. From the publications under § 46 TrinkwV, 410,433 measured values from 2,700 water suppliers across 6,023 postcodes are recorded — hardness, nitrate, lead, PFAS-20, pesticide metabolites and microbiology. Enter a five-digit postcode above.
New: Italy. Since 12 January 2026, Italian water suppliers have been required to publish their values; there is no central platform, so we look for them per Gestore. Recorded are 190,970 measured values from 35 Gestori in 1,892 Comuni. The values are tied to the Comune, not to the postcode — it can still be searched using the CAP. View recorded Comuni.
Austria: From the Austrian drinking water database (BMSGPK, ÖVGW and AGES), 64,618 measured values from 387 water suppliers across 863 postcodes are recorded — hardness, minerals and nitrate. Enter a four-digit postcode above or view all recorded areas.
Where the data comes from
Water suppliers are required to publish their analysis results. We read these publications automatically, check them and show every value unchanged — with document, issue date of the report and retrieval date. No value without a source, no page without real data.
