1. Controller

MAUNAWAI Schweiz GmbH, Schulhausstr. 4, 6045 Meggen, Switzerland · e-mail: willkommen@maunawai.ch. See also Imprint. Since the service is directed at users in the European Union, the GDPR applies (Art. 3 (2) GDPR).

2. Access data / server logs

When the site is accessed, our hosting provider processes technically necessary access data (including IP address, date/time, page retrieved, status code, user agent) in order to deliver the page and ensure secure operation (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — legitimate interest in delivery and IT security). The data are stored only as long as necessary for these purposes and are subsequently deleted. Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany, as a processor (Art. 28 GDPR, data processing agreement).

3. Audience measurement without cookies

To see which pages are being read, we count page views with Umami — software that we operate ourselves on our server in Germany. No cookies are set, nothing is stored in your browser and no data are transmitted to third parties; in particular, neither Google Analytics nor comparable services are used.

Recorded are the page accessed, the referrer (where you came from), country, browser, operating system, device type and screen size. Your IP address is not stored in the process: in order not to count repeat views within a day twice, Umami uses it together with the browser identifier and a randomly generated value that changes daily to form a checksum. It cannot be reversed and loses its meaning after 24 hours at the latest. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in designing the service to meet demand).

Because nothing is stored on your device and nothing is read from it, in our assessment no consent is required — which is why you see no cookie banner here. There is no cross-site tracking, no profiling and no advertising measurement.

4. Postcode search

The postcode you enter serves solely to display the corresponding drinking water data. It is not stored in a way that is permanently linked to your person.

5. API access

If you apply for API access (API), we process the email address provided and the intended purpose in order to review and administer the access (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Issued API keys are stored exclusively as a cryptographic hash, not in plain text.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Please address requests to willkommen@maunawai.ch.

7. External links

Our pages link to the original publications of the water suppliers. The respective operators are responsible for their content and data protection.
