- What is retrieved
- only the addresses at which you publish your drinking water analysis — usually a PDF, sometimes a table page. No forms, no search, no crawling of the entire website.
- How often
- at most once per quarter, usually once a year — analyses are published annually. At least ten seconds between two requests to the same domain.
- robots.txt
- is read and followed before every retrieval, including crawl delay. A text and data mining reservation likewise counts as a refusal for us.
- Operator
- MAUNAWAI Schweiz GmbH, Meggen — manufacturer of water filters. Why the portal nevertheless carries no product advertising in the data section is explained in the methodology.
Blocking
Two lines in your robots.txt are enough, and we abide by them:
User-agent: MaunawaiWasserinfoBot
Disallow: /A message to kontakt@maunawai.info has the same effect: we will then remove your domain permanently. On request, your values will also disappear from the database; we do not ask for reasons.
Allowing
A common case: your robots.txt blocks PDF files across the board — a default setting in many content management systems, aimed at search engines. We abide by that too and then read nothing out. If you would like your analysis to appear here, an exception for our retrieval is enough:

What happens to the document
It is archived (with checksum and retrieval date) and read out automatically, with AI support as well. The values then appear unchanged — including entries such as “< 0,001” or “not detectable” — placed in context against the statutory parametric value and with a link back to your publication. We do not rate your water and we do not derive any product recommendation from any value. Anything unusual goes through a human review before publication; the procedure is set out openly in the methodology.
